The Ursula Walker/Buddy Budson Sextet performs standards and jazz classics, with an emphasis on well-known jazz instrumentals with lyrics by Ursula and Buddy.
Ursula Walker has been a mainstay of the Detroit music world for 72 years, beginning at the age of eleven on Detroit television and radio. Her outstanding talents as a unique stylist of ballads, standards, and jazz gained her national recognition among her peers. Buddy Budson has been playing jazz piano around Detroit for 64 years. He toured and recorded with Buddy Rich, Earl Klugh, and the Four Tops. He has backed well-known artists including Henry Mancini, Mel Torme, and Sammy Davis, Jr.
The sextet features four of the area’s finest musicians. Bassist Jeff Halsey, Drummer David Taylor, Trumpeter Dwight Adams and Saxophonist Keith Kaminski.
