Detroit has spawned generations of premiere jazz artists. While impressive craft and technique can be achieved by gifted artists of any age, the apex of artistry, musicality, individualism  and communicative improvisation typically requires a lifetime devoted to introspection, cultural awareness and the study, performance and evolution of the jazz art.

This ensemble brings together a quintet of Detroit jazz artists who have sustained reputations of excellence for decades, achieved the pinnacle of artistry and represent the current keeper of the flame.
